At Barrie Junk Co., we are committed to meeting the accessibility needs of people with disabilities in a timely and effective manner. We strive to prevent and remove barriers to accessibility and comply with the requirements set out in the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005 (AODA).
Our Commitment
Barrie Junk Co. has developed this Accessibility Policy and a Multi-Year Accessibility Plan to outline our strategy for meeting our obligations under the Integrated Accessibility Standards Regulation (Regulation 191/11) of the AODA. Our vision is to ensure that all people, including those with visible and invisible disabilities, have the same opportunity to access and benefit from the services we offer.
Accessibility Principles
Barrie Junk Co. is dedicated to making reasonable efforts to provide services in a manner that respects the principles of:
-
Independence: Ensuring that persons with disabilities can access services in a way that is free from assistance, where possible.
-
Dignity: Treating all persons with disabilities in a manner that respects their self-worth and individual needs.
-
Integration: Ensuring that persons with disabilities can access services alongside others, unless an alternative is necessary for equitable service.
-
Equality of Opportunity: Providing persons with disabilities the same opportunities to access and benefit from our services as others.
Accessibility Plan
To meet our accessibility goals, Barrie Junk Co. has created a Multi-Year Accessibility Plan that outlines specific actions we will take to address current barriers and prevent future barriers to accessibility. This plan will be reviewed and updated regularly to reflect progress and any changes in regulations.
